Summer Music Assignments
I hope that these musical examples help you to keep singing and developing your tone so that we can hit the ground running in the fall.
1) "April is in My Mistress Face" by Thomas Morley.
Access the pdf file here. Yes, we are going to keep singing this song. Madrigals are the best songs to quickly teach tone, and especialy the tone that we will need in Trilogy. The recording is the Cambridge University Singers. Anything that they do is excellent. Please consider matching your sound to theirs. |

2) "Fyre, Fyre" by Thomas Morley
Access the pdf file here. Watch the video by Voces8. Notice their tone. Can you match their sound? Notice that the words are a bit different. I would like to use the song exactly as Voces8 interprets it with the same use of the words, etc. |
|
3) "Good Night, Dear Heart" by Dan Forrest
The sheet music is not accessible yet. Watch this video by East Carolina University. Again notice their vowel placement and their tone. In the video you can see how they shape their mouths to make the sounds and you should try to emulate them. |
