CHOIR AUDITION INFORMATION
Trilogy Auditions will be held May 2 to May 4, 2016.
Other than Trilogy, students may complete a choir audition at any time until May 20 (or in the fall).

Students will need to choose which level of audition they are completing. A student auditioning for Concert Choir will need to complete tasks 1 - 3. A student auditioning for Trilogy will need to complete tasks 1 - 4.

Light Auditions: Men's Choir / Les Chanteurs

1. SCALES: Sing five-note scales on Ta... I will play the piano with you.
|
To classify the voice, check range and register changes and to check pitch matching
|

2. PITCH-MATCHING: I will play a "melody" a couple of times on the piano and you will sing back (on "ta") what you hear.
|
This will check to see if you can follow the notes as played on the piano. It tests the quickness of your ear and personal error checking.

Intermediate Auditions: Concert Choir

3. SIGHT-SINGING: You will be given a simple "melody" and asked to sight-sing it. You may have a couple of attempts and may get a small amount of help.

So much of what we do in concert choir is reading music. You need to know rhythm and know when notes are moving up and down.

Advanced Auditions: Trilogy
|
4. PERFORMANCE: You will sing "Fa Una Canzona" with an audio track of former/current trilogy members.
|
Your musicianship is measured along with your ability to match tone and phrasing with a "typical" trilogy group.
