This is the 2020 Trilogy / Triumph! Audition Information
The scheduler is not set up at this time. More information will follow. All other pieces are accurate and up to date.
After your audition at the school when all of the auditions have finished, you will be given a recording to work with. You will have one week to learn your part and submit an audio recording (as a part of your complete audition). More information will be provided at the time of your "at school" audition. This is step 6.
Your audition will consist of a range check (low, high and register shifts), audio memorization, sight singing and prepared madrigal singing performance. The total process should take about 10 minutes. We will schedule in blocks of 1 hour (you and five other singers will audition in your block). Please plan to be available for the entire block. If there are extenuating circumstances or reasons why you cannot stay during the entire block, please notify me as you come into the audition.
You must perform the song in the part that you would like to be considered. For example, if you do not sing the alto line, you will most likely not be considered as an alto in the choir.

Resources: The part predominant files perform two verses. You will only need to prepare the first verse. Memorization is encouraged but not mandatory. When you perform in your "at school" audition, you will sing through twice. The first time is with the balanced voices (all parts). The second time is with your part missing -- you become the fifth singer.

The PDF (sheet music) is accessed through the "Step 4" button above.
Please note: If you are auditioning for a spot in Trilogy, please use the SSATB recordings. If you are focusing on a Triumph! spot, please use the SSA recordings. On your application you will indicate the choirs that you are auditioning / focusing on, so the voices recordings can be used with either audition. Also, please note that the tracks for SSA and the SSA parts of the SSATB are exactly the same.

Trilogy / Triumph Auditions: Part 2
Submit an audio recording of you singing "Weep O Mine Eyes" (John Bennett) to me by the end of the day on Tuesday (May 5). This will test your ability to access resources, spend some "unplanned" time rehearsing and indicate your personal effort to learn a piece of music. You are not limited to the resources that I provide -- find your own and show that you can do this. Play through your part or have someone you trust do it. Sing out loud with recordings. Make the best recording you can. Do it and get it turned in as quick as you can.
Audio instructions. Record yourself singing (I must hear you louder than the recording) with THIS RECORDING playing in the background. You do not need to be memorized (obviously). Please observed dynamics and phrase shaping (if you can get to that after accuracy of notes).
You can submit your audio recording here: CLICK HERE.
