TRILOGY is the auditioned chamber choir at Pine View High School. Trilogy has been invited to sing at the Utah Music Educators Association Midwinter Conference as a lab choir for Vocal Jazz and Scat Techniques and Choral Directing and Gesture as well as performance slots. Trilogy has received superior ratings at the NAU Jazz/Madrigal Festival in Flagstaff Arizona and will perform at the Utah State Superintendent's Conference in March. Pine View HS will host the 2013 Region 9 Solo and Ensemble Festival.
Students in Trilogy complete an advanced audition including pitch matching, scales, note memory and recall as well as performing a prescribed piece of music on their with three other parts as background.
Trilogy students perform extensively (particularly during the Christmas season and Singing Valentines -- see the Current Calendar) and are expected to make a commitment to the group as they are invited to participate.
Students in Trilogy qualify to perform in the Utah All-State Choir and the Utah Honor Choir.
Students in Trilogy must pay for the costs of outfitting and tours. Fundraising opportunities are available -- students should not let the class fees determine whether or not they might audition. Discuss options with other Trilogy students, the Choir President and/or the Choir Director.
