If you are would like to participate in the 2019 – 2020 choir council, write a letter addressed to Mr. Reimer and the current choir council. In your letter explain in your own words why you want to be a part of the council and what will you do to continue Pine View Choirs legacy of greatness. What can you contribute that no one else can? What makes you the best choice? How can you help us the best? What are your weaknesses and what is your plan to overcome them?
A one page letter is fine. Be complete, but not rambling. Format the letter professionally.

Choir Council Positions
President
· Oversee the Choir Activities · Be sure that each of the members on the council is completing their assignments. Vice President (Public Affairs) · Be responsible for PV Choir Social Media · Publicity for Concerts · Concert Programs · Photos and Videos of Concerts · Work with a wardrobe person to see that each student is outfitted appropriately and the robe room is organized. · Assist the President as needed. Vice President (Fundraising) · Take responsibility for any group fundraising · Ticket sales at concerts, merchandise sales, etc. · Council with the president regarding choir purchases. · Work with a tech or equipment person to make sure that the equipment room is organized. Secretary · Focus on the attendance of students in rehearsal and concerts. · Take minutes at meetings, work with the President to follow up with people and their assignments. · Prepare judging packets for festivals. · Work with a historian and Tri-M Chair to put together a history (video, bullet list, or poem) and awards for the end of year concert. · Work with a librarian (or two) to see that the music room is organized and that music and folders are always current and distributed. Student Conductor · Lead the choir in the absence of the director. · Lead and report on the effectiveness of sectionals. · Work with section leaders to make sure that singers and the director are using time effectively and consider what might be added to rehearsals in order to be more effective. · Work with the Trilogy Rep, Triumph Rep, Men’s Choir Rep and Les Chanteurs Rep to make sure that PV Choirs are participating in a number of programs, concerts and festivals. · Make sure that the rehearsal space and practice room remain clean and be the scheduler of the practice room. |
Trilogy Representative
· Responsible for all sports and assembly National Anthem performances. · Work with the Student Director and Choir President to organize the choir. · Act as the liaison for the choir and Trilogy. Triumph! Representative · Act as the Triumph! representative on the choir council. · See that Triumph! activities get sufficient time · Contribute to group activities. Men’s Choir Representative · Act as the Men’s Choir representative on the choir council. · See that Men’s Choir activities get sufficient time · Recruit for the Men’s Choir – be an advocate · Contribute to group activities. Tri-M Chair · Charter PVHS Tri-M Chapter. This will include specific requirements for participation. · Oversee applications and service activities · Work with the Secretary to document service activities · Oversee and work with the President to present the annual awards at the end of the year. |
