TRILOGY POLICIES and PROCEDURES
ATTENDANCE and ELIGIBILITY
Students attend Trilogy every day from 7 to 8 am. Students who arrive between 7:00 and 7:10 will be marked "Tardy" (one attendance point). Students who arrive after 7:10 will be marked "Absent" (two attendance points). By school policy, students in Trilogy may earn up to 9 points before a "NG" is recorded and the student must attend restitution to maintain eligibility and earn a grade for the course.
In order to maintain eligibility in Trilogy, students must keep an overall GPA above a 2.0 and have no more than one "F" or "I" or "NG" from the previous quarter. Students who do not meet this criteria may be put on probation or removed from Trilogy.
Students in Trilogy are ambassadors of the school and, as such, are expected to maintain the highest standards in their conduct, including attending and participating in all of their classroom activities for all classes. Failure to do so could render a student ineligible to participate in Trilogy.
GRADING PROCEDURES
Because Trilogy is a class (and not just an extracurricular activity), grading procedures will be followed.
All students begin with 100 points (an "A"). Students lose points for missing class (-2) or arriving late (-1). Students lose points for missing performances (-25), scheduled sectionals, etc. Students earn points (back) by participating in outside of class sectionals, helping set-up, run and take-down festivals and concerts and otherwise participating in activities that benefit the group. Students may only earn points by consulting with the teacher ahead of time.
Any student who does not keep current on their fee payment schedule will receive an "I" grade for the quarter until they are current. This could render a student ineligible to participate. If there are legitimate concerns or an individual plan is necessary, it is the responsibility of the student and parent to contact the teacher.
The following grade scale will be used:
92 to 100 points = A 88 to 91 points = A- 82 to 87 points = B 70 to 81 points = C below 70 points = I
COST of PARTICIPATION
I am very careful about how we spend money within the program and do not charge more than is needed to maintain and sustain the program. The 2013 - 2014 cost will be $350 per student. This will cover spirit packs, outfitting, the Cedar Retreat, the Las Vegas Leadership Conference, the Fall Clinic, the Green Valley Chamber Festival and the State Solo and Ensemble trip. This does not include the California Tour, or costs associated with participation in any other choir.
